Hi
I have owned a mk1 63 lotus cortina for approx 7 years and am seeking information re its history. Chassis number Z74C 065798. It seems that the car was delivered in Aug 1963 to Colne Lancester. The car seems to have been raced in possibly the 70's with modifications to the pedal box etc and the roof being replaced. It also has a second tag in the engine bay with RHD 126.
Any information would be appreciated. Is there someone on the register worth contacting
Thanks
Eddie

Hi Eddie. Welcome to the forum. You need to contact the LCR Committee members (forum ID's Andy M or Rick) for this info.

Hi Eddie,
The car certainly appears on an old copy of the register, that I have.
What condition is the car in? Do you have any photo's you can
post on here? We never tire of seeing pic's of L/C's!
Do you know who raced it in the 70's?
Scott

Hi Eddie,
Looking at a copy of the old register it shows the car was first registered 01/08/1963 and it was last known in the Lancs area, and according to Dvla the last road tax expired on: 27 September 1982 so I presume its not been on the road for a while??
Like Scott mentioned some pics would be nice!!

Thanks for the replies. The car is undergoing a full restoration however the car was purchased in bits although relatively complete. It does look like the car has been in bits for a long time. I will post pics of restoration tonight. There are signs that the car has been raced such as modified pedal box, reinforced a frame and even a new roof. Car has all the unique parts for a 63 such as magnesium ford bell housing, alloy extension housing and alloy remote shifter etc.
Will post some pics soon
Any more info would be appreciated
Thanks
Eddie

I do have the original service books. Car was delivered to lancester aug 1963. The engine is a lp block and early head but not lp 206. Have to check engine number again. Maybe changed when raced???
